HKU 115th Anniversary Official Event — Museum Culture Week

The School of Chinese at The University of Hong Kong will host “Museum Culture Week” from 10 to 13 March 2026, co-organised with the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the School of Future Media, HKU. One of the events celebrating HKU’s 115th Anniversary.

 

The event brings together leading figures from Hong Kong’s museum sector and the field of cultural communication to explore the power of museums and cultural imagination in the age of AI, through perspectives spanning history, literature, media, and curatorial thinking.


Event Highlights

10 March 16:30-18:30 Opening keynotes and dialogue by

  • Dr. Ng Chi-wah, Director of the Hong Kong Palace Museum; 

  • Professor Ting Sun-pao , former Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of History; 

  • Mr. Szeto Yuen-kit, former Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of Art.


11-13 March, talks by 

  • Professor Ho Man-wui, Honorary Professor, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

  • Professor Ting Sun-pao

  • Mr. Szeto Yuen-kit

  • Mr. Hu Yihu, Phoenix TV host

  • Ms. Mak Wing-man, Curator (Art) Chinese Antiquities of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, and Mr. Ng Kai-chun, Assistant Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of Art.

Venue: Multi-purpose Area, 2/F, Main Library, HKU

Language : Cantonese and Putonghua with AI-powered simultaneous English and Chinese translation.
